You can also look at the animal tracks left in the dust in the attic. As the temperature continues to drop these animals tend to make their way into our homes or businesses for warmth and shelter.

Because of this they have to gnaw on whatever they can find to file their teeth down. Raccoons can enter your attic through loose shingles and or openings the roof and eaves.
